As many of you know, Ben Breedlove passed away after suffering with a heart condition he has
had since he was a child. He left us on December 25, 2011, at age 18 due to cardiac arrest. He made this video (part 1 of 2) a week before he passed away. To learn about his story you can watch the video and have him tell you himself.
I knew of Ben Breedlove through YouTube. He made advice videos which became very popular in the beauty community because he was good friends with Megan Parken. Megan Parken is an extremely well known beauty guru and I found out about Ben through her channel.
I remember watching the videos Ben made and admiring his compassion for others. His videos
were all about giving advice to other kids and answering their questions.
When I got home today, I arrived just in time for Ben’s funeral which was aired live online.
I watched the whole thing for an hour and was just in awe.
Hearing his story, hearing his sister speak, and then hearing what the pastor had to say, truly
touched me. I am one to be inspired by many things. However, this was beyond inspirational.
In his story, he explains how he almost died on several accounts. At those times that he almost passed, he had what he referred to as “visions” or “dreams.” He explains these visions in his video and how it was the most peaceful and best feeling he ever felt. He didn’t want to leave it.
Ben had such strong faith in God and truly believed in heaven.
While listening to the pastor talk about Ben, his faith, his visions, and his life, it honestly made things seem so clear.
Life is such a complicated thing. It is something I hate that I cannot understand. It is something I am constantly confused about. Listening to this service truly helped me.
I know not everyone believes that there is a God or a heaven.
However, Ben and his story are still so inspiring.
I just wanted to share this with you all because I know everyone has their own struggles, worries, and fears; I know that Ben and his story have truly helped me open my eyes to some bigger yet simpler meanings in life.
I do Ben.
