It is no surprise that our sleep schedule is way off over the summer. We go to bed super late and don’t wake up until the afternoon. Going back to school after a summer of that is not fun. A few days before you go back to school you should try to get your sleep schedule back on track. Here are some tips to fall asleep at the right time so you can be able to wake up for the school year.
The day before school starts I like to go to bed at the time I would when I have school the next day. I wake up around 7am therefore I like to go to bed around 10pm.
If you have trouble falling asleep on command, like myself, here are some ways to get you to bed.
I always drink sleepy tea before I go to bed. It helps me relax and have vitamins in it that promote sleep. It also is yummy!
I keep my Bath and Body Works Sleep pillow mist and candle on my nigh stand so I can spritz the mist on my pillow and light the candle before I go to bed. The scent helps you relax so you can sleep better.
Melatonin was recommended to me by my doctor. Melatonin is a natural hormone in the body. It is a supplement you can take an hour or so before you want to go to bed and then it helps you fall asleep. This is not like NyQuil or Tylenol PM. It is just a natural vitamin that promotes sleep.
Turn off the Electronics
A lot of people fall asleep to the TV. However, If you are on the computer or your cell phone while trying to fall asleep, you won’t! It is proven that the computer and games are caffein to your body.
