Prom dress shopping could be your ideal Saturday or your worst nightmare. For me, it’s a little bit of both. However, after going to just two proms and handfuls of school dances, I have mastered how to find the perfect dress. Everyone’s proms are at different times depending on where you go to school, therefore, it is key to start a few months ahead of time. However, most proms are within weeks, so this post is a little delayed. But have no fear I have more solutions! First off, do your homework. Homework as in google is your new best friend. In order to find this season’s best dresses simply search prom 2012 collections and you will find so many sites with thousands of dresses. I prefer to search through each site by designer. Searching by designer will help you find a style of dress you like and give you options to choose from. If you find a dress you like online I suggest finding a retailer near you that carries that exact dress or designer. I started shopping weeks before prom last year and couldn’t find anything in stores. However, I found one online that I loved, went to a store to try on a dress from the same designer to get my correct sizing, and then they ordered it directly for me. This is a great way to order online the right way. Another tip for prom dress shopping is trying things on. Some prom dresses will make you laugh at how crazy they are. But ultimately it is how the dress fits and looks on you. Therefore, trying on dresses could make you consider a dress you wouldn’t have otherwise chosen.
