I've been holding off posting about spring until I felt inspired. The weather is still so cold and I've barely seen any stores with spring displays in Chicago. I finally caved cause I'm simply sick of it. I will post about spring in hopes that mother nature will take note and get rid of this awful weather.
A huge trend I've noticed is rompers. Sure rompers made their name a few years back but this season they have a new twist. I wore light flowy tank top looking rompers in the summer but not as much in the spring. What I have been noticing (and loving) is that rompers have taken a more formal approach. I've seen many rompers and said, "that's such a cute dress but it looks so little!" It's so little because it is, in fact, a romper in disguise! Rompers are using thicker dress like material and cuts to look more appropriate for a night out. This also goes along with the tuxedo shorts trend that makes it appropriate to wear shorts out as well. But this is all one piece and super cute.
I have a flowy romper that looks like a dress from Topshop that I love. I style is with high socks or tights and cute bootie. In my search for more 'going out' rompers, I've stumbled upon the cutest and most creative styles. A lot of these rompers are paired with belts which is great because changing up a belt can give each look a totally different feel. Also, layering with cardigans, socks, and jewelry can totally switch up your look in a romper. Here are some of my favorites that I hope to get for spring if it ever comes to Chicago.
Urban Outfitters
Topshop
(OBSESSED! And sold out right not as I know of *dies*)
Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal

I love rompers but I can never find plain flowy ones. I really like the black one you showed but is there any other colors? It would be really cute for a cover up. Thanks for always putting up these amazing posts. They always teach me to much.
Love, Olivia
I've gotten all my favorite rompers from ModCloth and ShopBop
My go-to one is a navy printed Marc by Marc Jacobs one that I had to get after Rachel wore it on an episode of Glee! It's looks perfect with a longer black cardigan and black flats
